This is a WONDERFUL Amish recipe that I know you will enjoy! It was published in Wanda Brunstetter's "Brides of Lancaster County" fiction series. Mary, one of my "chosen children" often makes them for us. They never last long! Yum! Yum!
Miriam's Chunky Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies
Mary LOVES these cookies! ; )
Ingredients:
3/4 cup margarine
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (8 oz.) chocolate candy bar, chopped
(Mary uses miniature Hershey bars)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat margarine, sugars, and peanut butter until light and fluffy. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in chocolate pieces. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 - 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Let stand a few minutes before removing from cookie sheet. Makes four dozen cookies.

I am SO making these cookies this week! My 10 year old nephew is spending the week with us. He and Joy (and everybody else!) will love these...not to mention my mouth watered just looking at your picture!
